Description

This training will cover the workplace rights that empower survivors to take care of their safety without having to sacrifice their job or income.  Survivors may be entitled to leave from work to go to court, seek safety, obtain services, seek medical care, and accommodations to keep them safe while at work.  We will discuss what rights are available and how advocates can support survivors in protecting their safety and employment.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand that workplace rights are available to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking.
  • Identify when workplace protections could benefit a survivor in ensuring that they maintain their economic security while obtaining safety, medical, and/or legal help.
  • Determine which resources are available to aid survivors in using their workplace rights and feel confident referring/directing survivors to these resources.
