Elvira Herrera is proudly the daughter of farm worker parents. Elvira came to the United States undocumented at the age of 4. She is a former farm worker, survivor of domestic violence, and human trafficking. Elvira started as a member and representative of the Adult Women chapter of Líderes Campesinas in 2010 in Coachella, CA. Elvira joined the Lideres Campesinas team in 2018. Elvira has over 24 years as an activist and advocate for domestic violence, sexual assault, and suicide prevention with the ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) program. She has also received certification in the following trainings; Emotional Intelligence for Behavioral Health, Human Trafficking and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES). Elvira continues to volunteer on the crisis line, and continues to advocate for survivors in criminal and family cases to help heal and empower survivors.
