Become a LEAP Fellow

WHO IS THE LEAP PROGRAM FOR? ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM PROVIDE?

Emerging leaders of color interested in developing, building, and enhancing their leadership skills in the anti-gender based violence field to address sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking and intersecting issues.

Create a community of support and professional network of emerging POC executives and management leaders, aimed at reducing isolation, maximizing skills development, information sharing and communication.

  • Self-identify as a person of color.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in the gender-based violence field.
  • At least 1 year of experience supervising staff at an organization addressing gender-based violence.
  • Currently an Executive Director, Senior Director, or Senior Manager at an organization addressing gender-based violence.
  • Fully commit to the LEAP 9-month program period and requirements.

Participants embark on a 9-month intensive leadership development program with their cohort fellows in various activities for engagement both virtual and in-person, that include but are not limited to:

  • Two, 2-day Academies
  • Webinar series
  • Small group coaching
  • One-on-one coaching
  • Peer-to-peer mentoring, networking, and community building

During past LEAP cohorts, we have covered the following topics:

  • Organizational development
  • Program development, sustainability, and evaluation
  • Strategic planning
  • Communications
  • Personnel management
  • Human Resources
  • Cultural capacity building
  • Board development and working with boards
  • Organizational budgets and finances

WHAT DOES IT COST?

There are no fees to participate in the program. In the event that conferences are held in person, travel and lodging is to be covered by the LEAP fellow’s organization. Scholarships may be available for a select few.

LEAP requires the investment of time and commitment to complete the 9-month program and organizational support from executive leadership and/or Board of Directors.
