Sandy Monroy (she/her/ella) has over 20 years of experience working in the movement to end sexual and domestic violence. Sandy served as the Director of Programs at a rape crisis center before joining VALOR in 2017 as the Director of Advocacy.

Sandy has extensive experience working with the Latinx community, immigrants, unions, and janitorial and farm workers. Sandy also uses her experience in policy advocacy to emphasize access to civil legal remedies. She works closely with culturally specific organizations to help build their capacity to support trans survivors, as well as at the Mexican Consulate in Sacramento to advocate for and support immigrant survivors of sexual assault. Sandy also provides Training and Technical Assistance to rape crisis centers and agencies working to build their capacity to support survivors.
